Quiet Runtime Editor Plugin is a framework project with related runtime features designed to create every edit at different levels!
Quiet Runtime Editor Plugin has 2 Different Modes:
Edit Mode: This mode develops scene designs in the Quiet Runtime Editor Plugin!
Play Mode: In this mode, users can engage with designed scenes through their player character in the Quiet Runtime Editor Plugin!
Key Feature:
The project’s cornerstone is the Runtime World Outliner. Presently, the World Outliner’s framework is built upon BP_QuietTreeManager. This actor is placed within the level and initializes the entire system upon startup.
BP_QuietTreeManager (Manager) serves as the repository for the world tree, manages action history, generates the user interface, and integrates all editor functionalities into a cohesive environment. It comprises SerializerComponent and HistoryComponent while maintaining the Router.
Serialization:
These fundamentals of the project rest on the ability to serialize objects to JSON format. This makes it possible to edit the property, copy the property, save it on disk, and keep an action history for undo-redo action. Manual serialization of desired classes can be done with the help of this given serialization pipeline.
Communication:
Current components of an editor work in parallel and use another object that acts as a mediator or router. Objects requested by the router are registered with the Gameplay Tag key. This setup allows the passing of commands or requests from one system component to another one without direct connection, and data or objects can be wrapped with JSON and sent through the router.
Scene Save and Load System: Enables saving and loading scenes into Json-files within the Documents/QuietRuntimeEditor/SaveGames folder via the WBP_SceneManager widget. Additionally, scene renaming and deletion are supported.
Runtime Actor Details (WBP_DetailsWidget): Facilitates editing of serialized actor properties.
Runtime Content Browser (WBP_QuietContentBrowser): This tool permits adding content to scenes by retrieving assets from the UserContent folder.
Runtime Material Editor (WBP_QuietMaterialEditor): Widget for creating and editing Dynamic Materials, with support for serializing material parameters.
Actions History: Registers user actions and stores necessary data for Undo-Redo in Json-files.
Runtime Transformation Gizmo: Enables editing of actor transforms at runtime.
Actor Transform Tools: Provides multiple tools for actor transformation, alignment, and population.
Runtime Color Wheel (WBP_ColorPickerWindow): Widget for selecting desired colors.
